MCM Intervention: The member’s doctor office was not helpful in getting DME for his OSA and left the task of finding a DME provider up to him. The member had difficulty and found a pharmacy that did not supply CPAPs. Our Case Management team spoke with the patient to direct him on the right path. After failed attempts to get the provider to assist in getting the CPAP, the member gave us the DME providers name and number and we provided the authorization. Our team explained to the DME provider that the doctor’s office was not helping our member and the DME provider agreed to take care of it. The patient was very relieved and grateful.
